House Dems trim health bill to $871 billion
An estimate from the Congressional Budget Office projects that the House Democrats' health care plan, which includes a "more robust" public option, would cost $871 billion over 10 years, according to two Democratic sources. The bill, based on preliminary accounting, reduces the deficit in the first 10 years. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi did not release CBO's preliminary numbers, but aides say final numbers could be released Wednesday.
